Safety and compliance

Safety comes first, on every journey

Families and commissioners need to know who is driving, how they were checked and how vehicles are looked after. Here is how we work.

Our standards

Checked, vetted staff

Drivers and passenger assistants are DBS checked and reference checked before they carry a passenger, and their licences are kept under review.

Ongoing training

Our teams are trained in safeguarding awareness, disability and communication needs, first aid and safe use of restraints and wheelchair equipment.

Clear reporting

Staff know how to raise a concern, and concerns are recorded, acted on and shared with the school, care team or commissioner as appropriate.

Well maintained vehicles

Vehicles are serviced and inspected to a planned schedule, with daily walkaround checks before the first journey of the day.

Licensed and insured

We operate as a licensed passenger transport provider with the insurance cover our work requires. Documents are available to clients on request.

Accessible by design

Ramp and lift equipped vehicles with tested tie-downs and occupant restraints, and staff trained in safe loading and unloading.

What that looks like day to day

  • Consistent staff. Passengers travel with the same driver and assistant wherever possible, with familiar cover arranged in advance.
  • Agreed handovers. Passengers are handed over to a named adult at each end of the journey, never left unaccompanied.
  • Written journey plans. Routes, timings and support needs are recorded and reviewed when something changes.
  • Honest communication. If a journey is delayed or something goes wrong, we tell you, and we tell you what we are doing about it.
